Donald (Don) R. Simmons, MD
Dr. Simmons is a Birmingham, Alabama native, having grown up in the Avondale area and graduating from John Carrroll High School in 1979. He attended Vanderbilt University (B.A. in Molecular Biology, magna cum laude 1983) followed by University of Alabama School of Medicine (M.D. 1987). He completed a Transitional Surgery Internship year with Baptist Medical Centers of Birmingham in 1988, and trained at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, finishing his Residency in 1992. In addition to family time with his wife and two daughters, he enjoys music, fly fishing, and toy trains.
William (Wim) T. DeVos, MD
Dr. Devos, a San Antonio native, graduated from Washington University in St. Louis (B.S. in Chemical Engineering, 1979), then from University of Texas Medical School in San Antonio (MD, 1983). He completed a combined residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston in 1987. After residency, he moved to Birmingham with his wife, where they raised their two daughters and one son in the Redmont neighborhood. When not with family, he loves to run and to tinker with electronics, computers, cars, and music.
